Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Sina Hardaker on completing her habilitation

We congratulate Prof. Dr. Sina Hardaker on completing her habilitation.

Prof. Dr. Sina Hardaker has successfully completed her habilitation in Human Geography at the University of Würzburg with her lecture on "Globale Ungleichheiten entlang der textilen Wertschöpfungskette – Herausforderungen und Dynamiken durch Ultra Fast Fashion [Global inequalities along the textile value chain - challenges and dynamics of ultra-fast fashion]".

Her habilitation thesis entitled "Intermediäre – Interplaces – Infrastrukturen – Digitale Plattformen und Sonderwirtschaftszonen als Schlüsselakteure und Räume der Steuerung und Vernetzung? [Intermediaries – Interplaces – Infrastructure – Digital Platforms and Special Economic Zones as Key Actors and Spaces of Governance and Connectivity?]" analyses fundamental transformation processes in the global economy and makes a central contribution to the further development of economic geography perspectives on platform economies, infrastructures and transnational control and networking processes.

The process was supervised by Prof. em. Dr. Barbara Hahn (Geography) as Chair of the Mentoring Board, Prof. Dr. Doris Fischer (Sinology, Chair of China Business and Economics) and Senior Professor Dr. Roland Baumhauer (Geography).

Since the winter semester 2025/26, Prof. Dr. Sina Hardaker has been appointed Professor of Human Geography at Munich University of Applied Sciences.

We would like to congratulate Prof. Dr. Sina Hardaker on this important academic milestone. We wish her continued success, inspiration and all the best for her future academic career, her future research projects and her commitment to teaching.
