Apl. Prof. Dr. Stefan Winkler is one of the two winners of the 'Photo of the Month' award given by the International Association of Geomorphologist (IAG), the international organization for all geomorphologists. The competition for the month of March was under the motto 'Glacial geomorphology and climate warming'.
The award-winning photo was taken as part of the field investigations of the current research project funded by the DFG: "Verbesserung der holozänen Gletscherchronologie der Southern Alps/Neuseeland zwecks deren abgesicherter Inwertsetzung als paläoklimatisches Archiv".
