Mehr kooperierende Betriebe, höhere Förderung, ein neuer Partner innerhalb der Uni: BigData@Geo geht in die zweite Runde und will mit Hilfe von Klimadaten konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen für Unternehmen mit Naturbezug erstellen.

On 26 June 2023, GERICS hosted the 2nd virtual LANDSURF participatory workshop to evaluate a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) for West Africa by end-users. The DSS has been designed and developed with end-users from the start of the project. It now reached a stage, where end-users were able to test and provide feedback on a first application of the DSS.

At the Climate Forum Mittweida, a platform dedicated to exchange and networking between climate researchers from Germany and Africa, we were represented with three contributions. The impact of climate change on agricultural indicators (Abel et al. 2023), the reconstruction of land use changes in West Africa since the early 1980s (Otte et al. 2023) and the presentation of these data within a web-based DSS (König et al. 2023) were presented.
